Now that that’s out of the way…being a 1958 model, would put this TR3 in the category of a TR3A. This is another listing that doesn’t state that there is a reserve in the bid information portion, but buried in the text, at the bottom, is the statement, “ Reserve is low!” – seems disingenuous, if there is a reserve, the seller should be upfront about it. It is located in Altoona, Pennsylvania and is available, here on eBay for a current bid of $4,350, fourteen bids tendered as of this writing. The current owner recently acquired this Triumph from an estate sale and is attempting to flip it. The previous owner supposedly started a restoration that then stalled. Today, we have a 1958 TR3, or perhaps better defined as a TR3A, that has been parked since 1978. They show up in many different places and in all imaginable conditions.
This car is located in Southern California,35 minutes (30 miles)from the Los Angeles Port of Long Beach.Triumphs have made quite a few appearances on Barn Finds as of late. This car is sold with a clear title and is available for inspection by appointment.

The transmission is fitted with the rare and desirable overdrive unit which isn't currently connected up electrically, but could be a simple fix.The car's underside shows some older repairs completed during the car's last restoration.Overall, an attractive and fun driving Sidecurtain Triumph with nice older cosmetics, that can be further enjoyed as is. It makes all of the right sounds and is great fun to navigate. It has great oil pressure, no smoke, revs hard, and pulls the car like a steam train along the road. The engine starts easily on the key without fuss. The steering wheel looks very nice and is the original.Mechanically, the car is in very good shape. The car's weather equipment is decent with a very nice white tonneau cover, decent soft top, and aftermarket sidecurtain set. All of the instruments are functioning correctly. The dashboard is finished in black vinyl, which is in good shape. There's only some noticeable sunburn/fade to the tunnel carpet between the seats, that shows some age. It's all holding up very well and is really attractive.
It's perfectly fine though for a decent driver. The car's interior trim is a nice job and was nicely upholstered in matching vinyl to the front seats, rear optional seat, door panels, quarter panels, cockpit cappings, and quality red carpets. Upon closer inspection, it's now showing it's age with various points of cracking in the bodywork, some chips/light scrapes, and lifting in some areas of thicker applied filler. Paintwork was a decent job and is quite attractive from 10 feet. It runs and drives very well with a super strong engine and is great fun out on the road. The bodywork on this car is average.
This car was modestly restored about 15 years ago to a decent standard. This car was just purchased from it's seller from the last 10 years in the Kansas City, Missouri area. Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this good driving TR3A in a nice factory color scheme.
